Following both screenings, George Chakiris, who played the role of Bernardo, will take part in a question-and-answer session moderated by Susan Haskins (Nov. 22) and theatre critic Peter Filichia (Nov. 23).
Proceeds from the event benefit the Charge Syndrome Foundation.
Chakiris' performance as Bernardo in "West Side Story" won him an Oscar and a Golden Globe Award. He was most recently seen in the world premiere of the new musical In Your Arms at The Old Globe in San Diego.
Based on a concept by Jerome Robbins, who directed and choreographed the original Broadway production, West Side Story features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The 1961 film was directed by Robbins and Robert Wise.
