Rise up, fans of theatre and sports—you do exist! The New York Yankees has partnered with Hamilton on Broadway in celebration of the show's 10th anniversary. For the team's August 25 game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx (against the Washington Nationals), the first 10,000 attendees will receive a special cobranded baseball cap—featuring both the Yankees and the Hamilton logo.
That's not all. That same game will also feature performances from Hamilton cast members. Christopher Jackson (who originated the role of George Washington and is currently in Hell's Kitchen) will perform the national anthem at the game. Then during the seventh inning, current cast members Stephanie Umoh, Morgan Anita Wood, and Cherry Torres will perform “God Bless America."
Plus, Tony Award winner Renée Elise Goldsberry will show off her athleticism by providing the first pitch in the game.
Hamilton fans who want to guarantee that they will receive the limited edition baseball cap can purchase special tickets to the August 25 Yankees game at this link.
$10 of every special event ticket sold will be donated to the 501c3 nonprofit Beyond the Stage Door (BTSD), which is a comprehensive and intensive educational program designed to educate, empower and prepare undergraduate students or mid-career transitioning professionals from diverse backgrounds for careers in general, company and stage management.
This is not the only special collaboration Hamilton is doing for its 10th. The show recently collaborated with Playbill and Canva for a special Playbill design contest; the finalists can be viewed here.
