That Parenting Musical will make its New York premiere Off-Broadway at Theatre Row beginning September 4. Opening night will be September 12, with performances continuing through January 12, 2025.

The work is written by a real-life parenting team, Graham and Kristina Fuller, who have reached into their own experiences to craft this show about two sleep-deprived parents navigating their new reality with both a newborn and a toddler. Jen Wineman (Dog Man The Musical) is directing and choreographing.

The cast will include Natalie Bourgeois as Single Friend, Max Crumm as Child 1, Vidushi Goyal as Child 2, McKenna Ogrodnik as Mom, Brian Owen as Todd and Narrator, and Dwayne Washington as Dad. Casting is by Daryl Eisenberg of Eisenberg Casting.

"While in the trenches of parenting two young kiddos, we learned very quickly that our experiences—as ridiculous, hilarious, heartwarming, and gross as they could be—were shared by so many others out there as to be near-universal," says the Fullers in a joint statement. "Those parents were longing for a night out, particularly a comedic experience shared with other parents experiencing a similar life stage. It was out of this inspiration and relatability that That Parenting Musical was born. The show celebrates (and sometimes, bemoans) the unique joys, hilarity, and zaniness involved in parenting tiny humans."

The production will feature scenic design by Tim Mackabee, costume design by Tina McCartney, lighting design by Alan C. Edwards, sound design by Jessica Paz, props by Brendan McCann, arrangements by Graham and Kristina Fuller and Dan Graeber, and music direction and orchestrations by Graeber. Ellie Handel will be production stage manager with Miranda Shaffer as assistant stage manager.

Previously titled In the Trenches, the musical received earlier developmental stagings at Louisville, Colorado's CenterStage Theater Company and Denver, Colorado's Elaine Wolfe Theatre, both in 2019. A concert performance followed at 54 Below in 2022, which was followed by a premiere staging at Littleton, Colorado's Town Hall Arts Center in 2023.

Ember Productions is presenting the Off-Broadway run, with Jen Sandler serving as executive producer. Visceral Entertainment is general managing.
