York Theatre Company's world premiere musical This Is Not a Drill begins performances Off-Broadway September 9, and Playbill has a sneak peek at the production in the gallery below.

The musical, which continues through October 11, centers on the 2018 fiasco in which a mistakenly activated emergency alert made the residents and visitors of Hawaii believe a nuclear bomb was headed their way. Holly Doubet, who experienced the crisis, penned the book with Joseph McDonough, and collaborated on the score with Kathy Babylon and John Vester. Paul Bogaev serves as music supervisor, with David John Madore as music director. Gabriel Barre is directing and choreographing.

The production stars Caitlin Burke (The Sound of Music) as Leilani, Victor E. Chan (Lempicka), Bill Coyne (Greed: A Musical For Our Times), Matthew Curiano (Ragtime) as Chris, Chris Doubet as Tony, Gary Edwards (The Voice) as Derek, Felicia Finley (Smokey Joe’s Café) as Jessica, Kelvin Moon Loh (Beetlejuice) as Kaleo, Sam Poon (Sing Street) as Ikaia, Lukas Poost (Shrek: The Musical), Marianne Tatum (Barnum), and Aurelia Williams (Once on this Island) as Sophie. The swings are Xavier Reyes and T. Shyvonne Stewart.

The production also features scenic design by Edward Pierce, costume design by Johanna Pan, lighting design by Alan C. Edwards, projection design by Brad Peterson and Peter Brucker, and sound design by Shannon Slaton.

Meg Meschino is the production stage manager, and Kyle Schuller is the production manager. Ben Babylon is the assistant music director, and Ashley Wren Collins is the associate director and choreographer. Casting is by Holly Buczek of HDB Casting.
