News Many Broadway Shows Offer “Star-Spangled” $40 Discount This Weekend Plus, three shows are planning to perform on the Fourth of July itself.

A lot of people get out of town on the three-day Independence Day weekend, but for those theatre lovers staying in town, several old and new hits on and Off-Broadway are offering a special $40 ticket deal.

And while no Broadway shows are planning to perform on Monday, July 4, the city's two longest-running Off-Broadway shows, The Fantasticks and The Perfect Crime, are both planning to add one more performance to their tally that day. Plus, one new Off-Broadway show, the patriotic Liberty, has scheduled its opening night for the Fourth of July.

A group of Broadway shows are providing a special $40 discount on tickets for July 4th weekend, as part of a promotion called “Star-Spangled Broadway.” This discount is available for Chicago, The Crucible, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Fun Home, Kinky Boots, She Loves Me and Something Rotten!

Here are the participating shows and a schedule of the performances offering the $40 ticket:

Chicago
Chicago is the longest-running American musical on Broadway. Winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy, this tale of greed, murder and show biz has been seen by more than 30 million people worldwide. The score includes "All That Jazz" and "Razzle Dazzle" and features dance in the style of Bob Fosse. Performances: July 1 at 8 PM, July 2 at 2:30 PM and July 3 at 2:30 PM

The Crucible
Arthur Miller's Pulitzer-winning drama has returned to Broadway in a new production by the acclaimed Belgian director Ivo van Hove. Set during the Salem witch trials of the 1690s.
Performances: July 1 at 8 PM, July 2 at 2 PM and 8 PM, July 3 at 3 PM and July 5 at 7 PM.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Winner of the 2015 Tony Award for Best New Play, the National Theatre production is in its final weeks. Two-time Tony Award winner Marianne Elliott (War Horse) directs this adaptation by Tony and Olivier Award winner Simon Stephens that brings Mark Haddon’s internationally best-selling novel to life.
Performances: July 1 at 8 PM, July 2 at 2 PM and 8 PM and July 3 at 3 PM

Fully Committed
Five-time Emmy Award nominee Jesse Tyler Ferguson plays all 40 characters in this comedy about a harried reservations clerk at a super-trendy New York restaurant. Performances: July 1 at 8 PM, July 2 at 2 PM and 8 PM and July 3 at 3PM

Fun Home
This summer is your last chance to experience the Tony Award-winning musical based on Alison Bechdel's best-selling graphic memoir about her father's suicide and her own coming out.

Kinky Boots
Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein's Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of the unexpected friendship between a factory owner and a “fabulous” entertainer. Performances: July 1 at 8 PM, July 2 at 2 PM and 8 PM, July 3 at 3 PM

She Loves Me
Last chance to see the revival of the romantic Bock & Harnick musical that stars Tony winners Laura Benanti and Jane Krakowski, and Tony nominee Zachary Levi.

Something Rotten!
Musical comedy about two Elizabethan brothers trying to compete with William Shakespeare, who set out to write the world's first musical.
