We Live in Cairo, the new musical from composing team The Lazours, will release an Off-Broadway cast recording October 24. And Playbill has a first listen to one of the songs of the album. The musical, which follows a group of friends during and after the 2011 Arab Spring, ran last year at New York Theatre Workshop (read what critics have to say here). The album is released with Center Stage Records. Pre-save or pre-add the album here.
The album is produced by two-time Grammy and two-time Tony Award winner Charlie Rosen, with orchestrations by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Starobin.
This season, the Lazours' Night Side Songs will play at Lincoln Center Theater February 14–March 29, 2026. Their The Lunchbox will run at California's Berkeley Repertory Theater, directed by Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin, May 17–June 28, 2026.
