Cabaret & Concert News Legally Blonde Writers Nell Benjamin and Laurence O’Keefe Will Play Feinstein’s/54 Below Together and separately, the married collaborators have written such musicals as Mean Girls, Heathers, and Bat Boy.

Nell Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe, the husband-and-wife songwriting team behind Broadway’s Legally Blonde, will perform an evening of their music at Feinstein’s/54 Below March 25, 2019. Show times are 7 PM and 9 PM.

Titled I Remember It Differently, the concerts will showcase songs from musicals Benjamin and O’Keefe have written together and separately. The duo will be joined by current and former cast members from their shows.

Benjamin and O’Keefe received a 2007 Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score for Legally Blonde. Their work together also includes the YA musicals Cam Jansen and Sarah, Plain and Tall.

Benjamin was Tony-nominated last season for her work on the Broadway hit Mean Girls, co-written with Tina Fey and Jeff Richmond. She has also collaborated on the musicals Dave (with composer Tom Kitt) and Because of Winn Dixie (with composer Duncan Sheik).

O’Keefe is the award-winning composer-lyricist of the Off-Broadway hit Bat Boy. His works also include the stage musical adaptation of Heathers (written with Kevin Murphy).
