Additional performers have been announced for Sing Happy: The Lyrics of Fred Ebb, which will be presented November 25 at 7 PM at Birdland Jazz Club to commemorate the 20th year of the Fred Ebb Foundation.
Hosted by Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch, the evening will feature the talents of the newly announced Klea Blackhurst, Graham Rowat, and Gabrielle Stravelli. The threesome will join the previously reported Kate Baldwin, Heidi Blickenstaff, Julia Murney, Debbie Gravitte, Luke Hawkins, and Joel Crump. Stritch will also serve as musical director.
Attendees can expect to hear John Kander and Ebb favorites (from Cabaret, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and more) as well as
some rarely performed gems and a few tunes cut out
of town.
Presented by the Foundation, The Fred Ebb Award
recognizes excellence in musical theatre songwriting, by writers that have not yet achieved significant commercial
success. The honor, to encourage and support aspiring
songwriters to create new works for the musical theatre, includes a $60,000 award.
The Fred Ebb Foundation, funded by royalties from Ebb’s vast catalogue of work, and Birdland Jazz Club present the upcoming concert.
