Party on, dudes! Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure film stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will reunite on Broadway in a new revival of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot. To be directed by Jamie Lloyd (Sunset Boulevard, A Doll's House), the revival will begin in fall 2025 at an Ambassador Theatre Group theatre to be announced.
Reeves will play Estragon opposite Winter's Vladimir, with additional casting to be announced.
The production will mark Reeves' Broadway debut. Winter previously appeared on Broadway as a child, playing John Darling in the 1979 Sandy Duncan-led Peter Pan.
“It is a real honor to be collaborating with the brilliant Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter on Samuel Beckett’s sublime masterpiece—one of the greatest plays of all time," says Lloyd in a statement.
“We’re incredibly excited to be on stage together and work with the great Jamie Lloyd in one of our favorite plays," add Reeves and Winter.
Premiering in 1953, Waiting for Godot centers on two men waiting for the titular Godot, engaging in a number of discussions in the meantime. The work has become a theatrical classic. On Broadway alone, the upcoming revival will be the play's fifth major staging.
The Jamie Lloyd Company, ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live, and Gavin Kalin Productions are producing. 101 Productions, Ltd. is general manager.
