Julianne Hough and Skylar Astin will host this year's Tony Awards pre-show, The Tony Awards: Act One, streaming live from Washington Heights' United Palace in NYC for free on Pluto TV June 11 beginning at 6:30 PM ET. The event, which will feature "exclusive content," according to press notes, will precede the main Tony Awards ceremony, airing live on CBS and streaming live for Paramount+ premium-level subscribers beginning at 8 PM ET.
The gig is the second consecutive for Broadway POTUS star Hough, who co-hosted last year's pre-show with Darren Criss. Astin, currently starring in CBS' So Help Me Todd, was last seen on stage in Off-Broadway's Little Shop of Horrors. As previously announced, West Side Story Oscar winner Ariana DeBose is set to host the main awards ceremony.

Organizers aren't sharing much about what can be expected from the pre-show event. Due to the current WGA Strike, both The Tony Awards: Act One and the main awards ceremony will be unscripted, with hosts and presenters speaking off-the-cuff. Last year's pre-show included a number of special performances, and something similar can be expected this year, though a roster of performers has not yet been revealed.
The Tony Awards: Act One will stream free on Pluto TV's Celebrity channel. Pluto does not require users to create an account to stream.
