Casting has been announced for Musical Theatre West's upcoming production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning In the Heights, which will be presented October 20–November 5.

Perry Young, who starred in the tour of In the Heights, will reprise the role of Usnavi with Alyssa V. Gomez (Motown the Musical) as Nina. The cast also includes Mario Rocha as Kevin, Elvira Barjau as Camila, Carleton Bluford as Benny, Teresa Castillo as Vanessa, Andrew Perez as Sonny, Candida Celaya as Abuela, Briana Bonilla as Daniela, Merissa Haddad as Carla, Luis Martinez as Graffiti Pete, and EJ Cardona as Piraguero.

Benjamin Perez directs the staging, which will feature musical direction by conductor Dennis Castellano and choreography by Hector Guerrero.

The ensemble comprises Juan Guillen, Armando Yearwood, Joshua Rivera, Leonel Ayala, Danil Chernyy, Rodrigo Varandas, Joseph Abrego, Penny Wildman, Ali Whitney, Candace Washington, Ariana Alvarez, Carly Cannata, Kaeli Carr, and Luzma Ortiz.

In the Heights, which is set over the course of three days in Washington Heights, has music and lyrics by Miranda (Hamilton) and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes. The musical earned 13 Tony Award nominations, winning four. The soundtrack went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album and earned a nomination for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
