Hello Again is based on Arthur Schnitzler’s controversial 1897 play La Ronde, which strings together 10 interlocking scenes that capture a pair of lovers just prior to, or immediately following intense, but all-too-brief sexual intimacy. One character from each scene carries on into the next until a full dramatic circle is completed. LaChiusa’s musical adaptation premiered Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater in 1993. A cast album preserves the original score.

LaChiusa has written the Broadway musicals The Wild Party, Marie Christine, and Chronicle of a Death Foretold. His Off-Broadway works also include Giant, First Lady Suite, Little Fish, See What I Wanna See, The Petrified Prince, Bernarda Alba, Giant, Queen of the Mist, and First Daughter Suite.

Gustafson and Krueckeberg are the award-winning team behind the the romantic LGBT movie musical Were the World Mine.
