You don't have to go very far at all to get a first look at Disney's upcoming live-action remake of Moana—the first teaser trailer has dropped, and you can watch it here!

The minute-long spot features a preview of leading lady Catherine Laga'aia's performance of the movie-musical's iconic Lin-Manuel Miranda anthem "How Far I'll Go." Watch below.

Disney is giving the live-action treatment to its 2016 animated film of the same name, which featured Auli'i Cravalho voicing the title role and singing songs by Miranda. Hamilton director Thomas Kail is at the helm of the new version, which features a screenplay by Jared Bush.

Along with Laga'aia, the film will feature Dwayne Johnson reprising his animated performance as Maui, John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina, and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.

The film will release in movie theatres July 10, 2026.
