To celebrate the upcoming release of Harvey Fierstein's new memoir, I Was Better Last Night, the four-time Tony winner will be interviewed by journalist and commentator Michael Musto March 1 during a discussion that will be followed by a Q&A.
The 6 PM live-streamed event, presented by the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, is free to the public, but attendees must register here. A webinar link will be emailed to registrants two days before the online event, and again on the day of the program.
Fierstein’s career has transported him from community theatre in Brooklyn to Broadway and Hollywood and back. In his memoir, also due March 1, Fierstein looks back on his experiences, revealing never-before-told stories of his personal struggles and of his fabled career.
Fierstein, the son of a librarian, has made a donation to develop the Harvey Fierstein Theatre Lab, an educational space in the New York Public Library to support new generations of theatre-makers and performers.
