The 2022 Broadway Teachers Workshop, in-person for the first time since the pandemic began, will feature workshops and talkbacks with Harvey Fierstein, Ben Vereen, Jerry Zaks, Celia Keenan Bolger, Donna McKechnie, Rob McClure, Danny Burstein, and more. Participants in the three-day workshop will also see Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Company, Funny Girl, and The Play That Goes Wrong.
With four sessions planned between June 13-27, this years workshops will include professional development workshops on directing, choreography, music directing, scenic design, comedy, projections, body mics, intimacy direction, Sondheim, diversity and inclusion, and more. Show outings will feature post-show discussions (subject to availability), and the performance of The Play That Goes Wrong will be followed by an on-site workshop. The sessions will also include networking opportunities throughout.
The workshop, produced in conjunction with Music Theatre International, aims to inspire middle and high school theatre and arts teachers with new teaching methods and skills. The workshops include the opportunity to earn professional development hours and graduate level academic credit.
Registration for the event, which has sold out every year since its inception, is available at BroadwayTeachingGroup.com.
