First nighters can tell you, there is nothing quite like the first preview of a new Broadway musical. We may not be able to bring you the anticipatory energy in the air, but we can take you into Avett Brothers musical Swept Away's first night on Broadway at the Longacre Theatre in the gallery below.

Michael Mayer is directing, with opening night set for November 19. Along with songs by the folk-rock group, the musical features a book by John Logan and chorography by David Newmann.

Leading the cast are Tony winner John Gallagher, Jr. (Spring Awakening) as Mate, Stark Sands (Kinky Boots) as Big Brother, Adrian Blake Enscoe (Dickinson) as Little Brother, and Wayne Duvall (1984) as Captin, all reprising their performances from the musical's earlier mountings at Berkeley Repertory and Arena Stage.
