Hi Playbill! I’m hopping on the bus from L.A. to San Francisco. Jump on board and see what Matilda the Musical on tour is up to in the Bay Area.

Thanks L.A.! See you soon!

Livin’ dangerously. Hello San Fran!

Welcome to San Francisco! This is the San Fan city card. All the important 411 for each city is printed on these awesome laminates.

I am housing with cast mates Jennifer Blood (Miss Honey), Stephanie Martignetti (Ensemble) and Wesley Faucher (Acrobat) in a neighborhood called The Castro. Here we are on our back porch with this sweet neighborhood kitty that has adopted us. We have been lucky enough to meet a cat in every spot so far!
Cassie Silva
The Castro is a vibrant community in SF, most prominently known for LGBT activism. The pride is alive & colorful rainbows, like these rad crosswalks paint this beautiful village

“A GOOD BOOK IS A GOOD FRIEND.” This mosaic wall is one of my favorites at the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy, across the street.

Speaking about the magic of Matilda on KALW radio was a lot of fun. Yes, this is the bathroom key on a giant spoon.

The Farmer’s Market steps away from the SHN Orpheum Theatre, where we are performing. A colorful way to spend downtime on two show days.

One of my favorite aspects of San Fran culture is the trolley! It feels like you’re riding a giant skateboard.
Cassie Silva
Spending the day at The Fisherman’s Wharf was such a treat. Check out the scenery, like this Historic Pier 43 Arch.

…Or this my super obligatory, touristy, semi clear, super far away picture of Alcatraz!

The museum Mecanique is a giant warehouse with vintage arcade games. Never has a $20 bill turned into quarters so fast.

The view from a classic San Fran steep street of Ghirardelli Square & Fisherman's Wharf. It smells like a chocolate paradise!

Another view from higher up. The steep streets are so high that I feel like a human roller coaster.

The famous Lombard Street. Swervy, curvy and full of beautiful pink blossoms.

This week we have 9 shows. I’m starting it off with some Bulletproof coffee for some extra super power. Yum!

I’m sharing a dressing room with Ora Jones (Mrs. Phelps) and Jennifer Blood (Miss Honey). The cast loves to visit each other backstage. This is Michael Fatica on a visit, modeling Ora’s inflatable furniture & our white robe cover-ups in the “Lava Lounge.”

Michael keeps us all rolling in giggles with his creative characters.

So does Danny Tieger (Michael Wormwood)

Today is National Dance Day! This is my silly interpretation of a position called a “tilt.” It’s what all the cool kids are doin’… And we have 14 of the coolest here at And we have 14 of the coolest here at Matilda the Musical.

There are 3 wig pieces that make up Mrs. Wormwood! There are additional pieces that switch out throughout the week. I’m in the process of naming them all. This photo includes Dolly, Marge & Corny.

It’s a very exciting week at Matilda the Musical on tour! It’s Swingtown USA! (UK?) Swings are magical people who learn multiple roles in the show and perform, sometimes with moments notice. They are true ninjas. Here is Danny Tieger (Michael Wormwood) dressed as Artsy Dad for the opening number, Miracle, proposing for “the first five minutes of the show” to Stephanie Martignetti, on for Miss Honey today, dressed as Artsy Mum (She accepted. It was a beautiful, and short marriage).
I love the support within the cast. We have a beautiful bond.

Wisdom Wednesday
My favorite day! Every Wednesday I like to set up a little goodies station for the cast and crew for a little inspiration boost, food for thought & appreciation. We’ve even included a local “Back to School” clothing drive this week! The kids like to give me ideas about their favorite treats or creative themes. It’s a great tradition that brings everybody together, especially the locals we’re working with while traveling.
This week's theme is the rainbow and the Wisdom Wednesday group quote is from the Cyndi Lauper song, "True Colors." “And I see your true colors shining through, I see your true colors and that’s why I love you. So don’t be afraid to let them show. Your true colors are beautiful like a rainbow.”

Phill Lewis was also at the show! I’m trying to keep it super cool in this picture, while I fan girl inside.
