The play, that will begin performances March 10 prior to an official opening March 16 at London's Menier Chocolate Factory, will feature Tanya Franks, Alexander Hanson (A LIttle Night Music on Broadway, which also originated at the Menier), Frances O'Connor and Robert Portal. It will run at the Menier, followed by a run at Theatre Royal Bath from May 9-14, which is co-producing it with the Menier.
Zeller, who will be represented on Broadway by the March U.S. premiere of The Father starring Frank Langella (beginning performances March 22 prior to an official opening April 12 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre), will also as previously announced see the return of a different production of The Father to London's Duke of York's from Feb. 24. His play The Mother is also currently running at London's Tricycle Theatre through March 12.
According to press materials, The Truth revolves around two couples and concerns friendship, suspicion, deceit and the truth.
As with the other plays, it is being presented in a new version by Christopher Hampton. It will be directed by Lindsay Posner, with set and costumes designed by Lizzie Clachan, lighting by Howard Harrison, sound by Gregory Clarke and original music by Matthew Scott.
Posner has previously directed Dinner with Saddam, Communicating Doors and Abigail's Party at the Menier, with the latter transferring to the West End's Wyndham's Theatre and a subsequent U.K tour. He is about to direct the world premiere of Matthew Perry's The End of Longing at the West End's Playhouse, and has recently been represented in the West by productions of Hay Fever, Harvey, Speed-the-Plow and Relatively Speaking.
