Edinburgh Festival Fringe favorite Bacon begins performances Off-Broadway at SoHo Playhouse January 4.

Written by Sophie Swithinbank and directed by Matthew Iliffe, the play premieres in the United States as part of the 2024 International Fringe Encore Series, running for 24 performances through January 28. January 8 will be the official opening.

Bacon explores masculinity, sexuality, and power through the lens of youth friendship. When new student Mark meets the out-of-control Darren, they two soon form a dangerously entwined friendship that threatens to veer off course.

The U.S. premiere stars Corey Montague-Sholay as Mark and William Robinson as Darren.

Bacon contains depictions of physical and sexual violence, references to self-harm and abuse, haze, and strobe lighting.

The production team includes set and costume designer Natalie Johnson, lighting designer Ryan Joseph Stafford, sound designer Mwen, fight and intimacy director Jess Tucker Boyd, voice coach Frankie Aaronovitch-Bruce, casting consultant Nadine Rennie, and production manager Chloe Stally-Gibson. Hannah Farley-Hills is producing for HFH Productions.
