The Drury Lane Theatre has announced the lineup for its 2019–2020 season, which will include the Chicago-area regional theatre premieres of Matilda and An American in Paris.
The season will begin April 26, 2019, with Matilda, running through June 23; Mitch Sebastian will direct. Next up are Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, in a production helmed by Artistic Director William Osetek and running July 12–September 1; The Color Purple, directed by Lili-Anne Brown (September 13–November 3); and Mary Poppins, directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge (November 15–January 19, 2020).
Rounding out the season will be the Gershwins’ An American in Paris, running January 31–March 29. Lynne Kurdziel Formato will direct the production, produced in special arrangement with Elephant Eye Theatrical, Pittsburgh CLO, and Théâtre Du Châtelet (where the musical premiered before its Broadway bow).
The announcement comes as the regional company continues its current season September 6 with Little Shop of Horrors. Also on tap are productions of Beauty and the Beast and Mamma Mia!
