An invitation-only reading of the new musical The Order of Chaos will be presented October 9 in Manhattan.
Featuring music by Charlie Romano, lyrics by Will Wegner, and a book by both, the reading will be directed by Rebecca Salzhauer. Adam Beskind is music director.
The cast will include Tony nominees Crystal Lucas-Perry (Ain't No Mo'), Rick Elice (Water for Elephants, Peter and the Starcatcher), and A.J. Shively (Paradise Square), joined by Alaina Anderson, Gabi Carrubba, Katerina McCrimmon, Toni DiBuono, Vishal Vaidya, and Ryan Bronston. Stage directions will be read by Stefania Gonzalez.
The Order of Chaos follows internet users who call themselves “Truth
Seekers,” but might be better known as conspiracy theorists, as they gather to
discuss harsh realities. But as a desperate newcomer to this community soon discovers, some among their ranks may be
harboring secrets of their own.
Lou Reed Williams will serve as stage manager.
The Order of Chaos, a finalist for the 2025 Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, was first presented in August 2022 during a residency at the Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford.
The upcoming reading is produced and general managed by Beth Slade, in association with Amas Musical Theatre, and supported by The Miranda Family Fund and Elizabeth Armstrong.
