Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele will star in the new Kander & Ebb musical New York, New York, which will begin previews at Broadway's St. James Theatre March 24 prior to an official opening April 26. Five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman directs and choreographs.

Ryan (Girl From The North Country, The Girl From Plainville) will play Jimmy Doyle with Uzele (Six, Dear Edward) as Francine Evans. Additional cast and creative team members will be announced at a later date.

Featuring music and lyrics by Tony winners John Kander and the late Fred Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret), the new musical is written by Tony nominee David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys, Steel Pier), co-written by Sharon Washington (Feeding The Dragon) and features additional lyrics by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In the Heights).

Inspired by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Motion Picture New York, New York, written by Earl M. Rauch, the new musical is set in 1946. The war is over, and a collection of artists has dreams as big and diverse as the city itself. Among them is Francine Evans, a young singer just off the bus from Philly, who is destined for greatness. At least, until she encounters New York native Jimmy Doyle, a brilliant but disillusioned musician.

This production reunites Kander with director and choreographer Stroman, book writer Thompson, and co-writer Washington, who collaborated with Kander and the late Ebb on Broadway’s The Scottsboro Boys, which was nominated for 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
