Casting and creative team are set for MCC Theater's upcoming world premiere of Caroline, penned by Preston Max Allen (We Are the Tigers) and directed by Tony winner David Cromer (Dead Outlaw; Good Night, and Good Luck).
Performances will begin Off-Broadway at MCC Theater’s Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater September 12 prior to an official opening September 30 with the limited engagement currently scheduled through October 19.
The cast will feature Amy Landecker (Bug, Transparent) as Rhea and Chloë Grace Moretz (The Peripheral, The Miseducation of Cameron Post) as Maddie; both are returning to the New York stage for the first time in over a decade. The duo will be joined by River Lipe-Smith (Geva Theatre’s A Christmas Carol), in their New York debut, as Caroline. Casting is by The Telsey Office and Caparelliotis Casting.
The new play follows Maddie, who is forced to seek the help of her long-estranged mother and finds herself unable to shield her daughter Caroline from the circumstances that fractured their family.
The upcoming production will also have scenic design by Lee Jellinek, costume design by David Hyman, sound design by Christopher Darbassie, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, voice, text, and dialect coaching by Gigi Buffington, makeup design by Suki Tsujimoto, and properties supervision by Samantha Shoffner.

Caroline is produced by special arrangement with Tom Kirdahy Productions.
