Wild About You, a new musical with music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy (The Great Gatsby) and a book by Eric Holmes (The Good Fight), will hold a two-week workshop and industry presentation in NYC. The workshop begins this week, with the invitation-only presentation set for October 4. Keaka Productions' Brian Spector is producing.
The work was released as an album in 2023 via Broadway Records and is due to get a new deluxe edition via Center Stage Records September 27 with two new bonus tracks covering material written since the first release.
Wild About You—previously titled With(out) Her—is being directed by Lili-Anne Brown. The musical, set to a pop-folk score, follows Olivia as she puts together the pieces of her life with a limited memory after finding herself in the hospital. Through a jumbled past, she wonders which one of the loves of her life is her emergency contact, and as she gains clarity, she remembers her greatest love: her son.
The workshop cast will include Jessica Vosk (Wicked), Lea DeLaria (POTUS), Jose Llana (Here Lies Love), Nicholas Edwards (& Juliet), Caleb Mathura (Mean Girls), and Caitlin Witty (Waitress).
Originally developed at Eclipse Theatre Company, Wild About You held an industry presentation in March 2023, and has since been seen in concert at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
