Regional News Cast Set for World Premiere of Anne Washburn's Little Bunny Foo Foo, Featuring Music by Dave Malloy Little Bunny Foo Foo will premiere in January 2018 at Kentucky’s Actors Theatre.

The cast is now set for Anne Washburn’s Little Bunny Foo Foo, a new play featuring music by Tony-nominated composer Dave Malloy (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812). Previews will begin January 9, 2018, prior to an official opening January 11 at the Actors Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky.

Directed by Actors Theatre Artistic Director Les Waters, the limited run will continue through February 4 in the Bingham Theatre.

The cast will be led by Sam Breslin Wright in the title role, with April Matthis as the all-powerful Blue Fairy, Andrea Abello, Alaina Kai, and Emily Kaplan as the Fairy Chorus, Eliza Bent as the lizard-like Skink, Bear Brummel as the Catmonster, and Daniel Arthur Johnson, Luis Ramos, Troy Valjean Rucker, and musical director Andy Strain as the band of Gentleman Toads.

A group of young, local actors play the Field Mice: Hadley Bauer, Belle Blevins, Brylee Deuser, Cadence Diggs, Abigail Hughes, Ella Jenkins, Brendan Miller, Molly Peters, Austin Ramirez, and Vaughn Ramirez.

Waters said in a statement, “Our process has been to reach for the most playful ideas—asking what would be most fun for the performers to perform and for the audience to watch. We aim to charm the socks off people.”

The production also features scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Tony Award winner Paloma Young, lighting design by Mark Barton, sound design by Bray Poor, and movement direction by Barney O’Hanlon.

Washburn's plays include 10 Out of 12, Mr. Burns, The Internationalist, A Devil At Noon (2011 Humana Festival), Apparition, The Communist Dracula Pageant, I Have Loved Strangers, The Ladies, The Small, Sleep Rock Thy Brain (2013 Humana Festival), and Antlia Pneumatica.
