The Hollywood Reporter has released its yearly ranking of the 100 most powerful people in entertainment for 2018. While Disney CEO Bob Iger still holds that No. 1 slot, there are 34 new names on the list.

Hamilton and In The Heights creator Lin-Manuel Miranda clocked in at No. 87 this year, ahead of Heidi Chronicles Tony Elisabeth Moss (99), as well as greats like Meryl Streep (93), and Ava Duvernay (88). Miranda will be seen this December in Mary Poppins Returns and is working on a new TV series about Bob Fosse.

Frozen book writer and Tony nominee Jennifer Lee takes the No. 67 spot alongside colleague Pete Docter. The Chief Creative Officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios is currently working on the animated Frozen sequel due in 2019.

Tony winner Denzel Washington took the 54th spot this year, a few months after hitting the Broadway stage in a Tony-nominated turn in The Iceman Cometh. Peter Chernin, a lead producer on the original movie musical The Greatest Showman hits the midpoint at No. 50. Star Wars mastermind and Broadway producer J.J. Abrams (The Play That Goes Wrong) is No. 32 on the list while Chairman of NBC Entertainment Bob Greenblatt is No. 31. Greenblatt is largely responsible for greenlighting the live television musical events producer by Neil Meron and the late Craig Zadan, solidifying a renaissance of musical theatre in the zeitgeist. Television mastermind-turned-Broadway producer Ryan Murphy (The Boys in the Band) is No. 19.

According to the publication, “editors compiled the THR 100 based on the size and reach of a person's purview, the success of his or her projects since 2017's list, the power to get a project made (company ownership helps) and the ineffables: heat, clout and intangible indicators of influence gleaned from conversations with top insiders (not to mention THR’s daily reporting).”
