Broadway News Broadway's A Beautiful Noise Will Close in June

The Neil Diamond jukebox bio musical opened in 2022 at the Broadhurst Theatre.

Broadway's A Beautiful Noise has set a final performance for June 30 at the Broadhurst Theatre. At that time, the Neil Diamond jukebox biomusical will have played 35 previews and 657 regular performances.

"Neil’s music has brought unadulterated joy to billions of people across the world," says producer Ken Davenport in a statement. "Everyone at A Beautiful Noise is proud to say that we had a small hand in telling his inspiring life story on Broadway and sharing in that jubilation with our audiences. As the North American tour prepares to launch this fall, I look forward to A Beautiful Noise spreading the love to countless others."

A national tour is scheduled to launch in Providence, Rhode Island, later this year.

A Beautiful Noise takes a look at the life of the Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Diamond, then and now, accompanied by hits from his decades-long career in popular music. All songs are written or co-written by Diamond with orchestrations by Bob Gaudio, Sonny Paladino, and Brian Usifer. The book is by Anthony McCarten.

Will Swenson starred as Neil Diamond–Then in the original company and was succeeded by current star Nick Fradiani in 2023.

The current cast also includes Mark Jacoby as Neil Diamond–Now, Amber Ardolino as Marcia Murphey, Shirine Babb as Doctor, Becky Gulsvig as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Fred Weintraub and Tommy O'Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns and Kieve Diamond, and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich and Rose Diamond.

The company also includes ensemble members Dianna Marie BargerKalonjee Gallimore, Anthony J. Garcia, Jess LeProtto, Tatiana LoftonAveena Sawyer, Deandre Sevon, Vanessa Sierra, and Annie Wallace; swings Mateus Leite Cardoso, Gabrielle Djenné, Jordan Dobson, Ninako DonvilleAlec Michael Ryan, and Sean Watkinson; and standbys Neal Benari and Paige Faure.

Michael Mayer directs, leading a creative team that includes choreographer Steven Hoggett, scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Jessica Paz, and hair and wig designer Luc Verschueren. Music supervision and arrangements are by Sonny Paladino with incidental music and dance music arrangements by Brian Usifer and vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo.
