A non-COVID-related illness has forced Broadway's revival of John Patrick Shanley's Doubt to cancel the first preview. The Roundabout Theatre Company production will now begin February 3 at the Todd Haimes Theatre. Opening night is February 29, and the limited engagement will continue through April 14.

Tony winners Tyne Daly and Liev Schreiber are leading the cast as Sister Aloysius Beauvier and Father Brendan Flynn, respectively. The production also features Obie and Lortel Award winner Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Mrs. Muller and Zoe Kazan as Sister James.

Doubt: A Parable opened its original Broadway production at the Walter Kerr Theatre March 31, 2005, and ran for over a year. It was nominated for eight Tony Awards, winning four, including Best Play; Best Actress for Cherry Jones; Best Featured Actress for Adriane Lenox, who played the mother of the student; and Best Direction for Doug Hughes. Shanley was also awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The work received a film adaptation in 2008 starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Viola Davis—they all received Academy Award nominations for their performances.

Daly was last seen on Broadway in 2015's It Shoulda Been You. She is a Tony winner for her turn as Mama Rose in the 1990 revival of Gypsy. Schreiber is a Tony winner for the 2005 revival of Glengarry Glen Ross. His other Broadway credits include Talk Radio, A View From the Bridge, and Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
