More casting has been announced for an upcoming (and still untitled) movie musical from director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and producer-music maker Pharrell Williams.
Per a report in Variety, Broadway vet Brian Tyree Henry (Lobby Hero, The Book of Mormon) will play an unspecified role, alongside the previously announced Halle Bailey (The Little Mermaid, The Color Purple), Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Ghost, The Holdovers), and Kelvin Harrison, Jr.
Details are scarce on the project, which is reportedly a coming-of-age story set in 1977 Virginia Beach, where Williams grew up. The script is being written by Tony-winning Dear Evan Hansen scribe Steven Levenson and Martin Hynes. No release date has been set.
Mimi Valdés will produce with Williams through i am OTHER, alongside Gil Netter for Gil Netter Productions.
