Abingdon Theatre Company has added more Broadway favorites to the lineup for their upcoming gala, being given in honor of two-time Tony winner Christine Ebersole October 27 at Edison Ballroom. The event, marking the 33rd season of the Off-Broadway company, will be a concert entitled Timeless Together, Stronger Still.
Newly announced to be performing are Tony winner Bonnie Milligan (Kimberly Akimbo), Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck (Flying Over Sunset), Caroline Bowman (Smash), Keri René Fuller (Wicked), Blaine Krauss (Hamilton), Bianca Marroquín (Chicago), and Carolina Rial (NBC’s The Voice). They join a previously announced roster that includes Tony nominee Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!), Tony winners Ali Stroker (Oklahoma!) and Santino Fontana (Tootsie), Tony nominee Betsy Wolfe (& Juliet), Maria Bilbao (Sweeney Todd), Erin Davie (Diana, The Musical), Claybourne Elder (Company), Morgan James (Motown: The Musical), Ashley D. Kelley (Shucked), Kara Lindsay (Once Upon a Mattress), Alysha Umphress (On the Town), and Ryan Vasquez (The Notebook).
The event will spotlight the music of Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Etta James, Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Cole Porter, and more. Robbie Cowan will serve as music director with choreography by Deidre Goodwin and direction by Producing Artistic Director Chad Austin. ATC Board Treasurer Katherine Kline will host.
Winner of two Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical (42nd Street and Grey Gardens), Ebersole has also starred in film (Wolf of Wall Street), television (Sullivan & Son, Royal Pains), and has performed concerts in theatres and concert halls across the country, from Carnegie Hall to The Pasadena and Boston Pops. A recording artist as well, Ebersole has released Christine Ebersole: Live at the Cinegrill, In Your Dreams, Sunday in New York, Christine Ebersole Sings Noel Coward, and Strings Attached. She is also among the family of artists who have performed on the Playbill Cruises.
