Tony winner Alan Cumming will emcee Roundabout Theatre Company's one-night concert Ring Them Bells: A Birthday Celebration for John Kander.
Held May 19, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, the benefit concert will celebrate Kander's 98th birthday, with Cumming leading a roster of Roundabout favorites performing material from Cabaret, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and more.
For nearly five decades, composer Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb operated within the upper echelons of Broadway, writing the scores for 15 Broadway musicals. This one-night concert will reunite Roundabout Interim Artistic Director Scott Ellis, director and choreographer Susan Stroman, and playwright David Thompson, who were the creative team behind Kander and Ebb’s And The World Goes ‘Round and Steel Pier.
Cumming made his Tony-winning Broadway debut in Roundabout’s 1998 revival of Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret, returning to play the role in the 2014 revival.
Proceeds from Ring Them Bells: A Birthday Celebration for John Kander will support Roundabout Theatre Company’s many programs and initiatives, including Education at Roundabout.
