News Actor Collapses Onstage at Ruthless! The Musical Peter Land, who stars in the Off-Broadway revival of Ruthless! The Musical at St. Luke's Theatre, collapsed onstage at the beginning of the second act July 17.

Land was transported to the hospital where he received emergency surgery for a tear in the aorta. His recovery, according to a press statement, is "going extremely well and he was even discharged from the hospital earlier this week."

Paul Pecorino has assumed the role of Sylvia St. Croix, and Land hopes to return to the show in the near future. (Author Joel Paley filled in for several performances in the week following the accident.) Pecorino appeared Off-Broadway in Devil Boys From Beyond, The Crumple Zone and Making Porn. He starred as Frank ‘N’ Furter in the international tour of The Rocky Horror Show.

Also featured in the cast of Ruthless! are Kim Maresca, Rita McKenzie, Andrea McCullough, Tracy Jai Edwards and Tori Murray.

With book and lyrics by Paley and music by Marvin Laird, this new production is directed by Paley with musical supervision by Laird.
