Jeff Hiller, known for his performances in Broadway's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and television's 30 Rock, will kick off his four-show residency at Joe’s Pub August 20 at 9:30 PM with his new show Grief Bacon.
Grief Bacon, which takes its title from the literal translation for “Kummerspeck,” the German word for emotional overeating, is an hour-long evening of stand-up and song, in which Hiller touches on grief, body image, being an out gay actor, bullies, midlife crises, career humiliation, and Tavern on the Green.
Recently seen in the Off-Broadway run of Bright Colors, Bold Patterns, Hiller is also set to play Panic in the Public Works production of Disney’s Hercules, which will run August 31–September 8 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. He has also appeared in the Shakespeare in the Park productions of Love’s Labour’s Lost, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Tempest, in addition to his guest appearances on Broad City and Cray Ex-Girlfriend.
