The 15th annual Jimmy Awards will be held at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre June 24, 2024, at 7:30 PM. The ceremony honors the best in high school musical theatre performers from across the country, ultimately bestowing the title of Best Performance by an Actor and Actress to two students. This year's ceremony will feature 102 nominees selected from more than 100,000 participating students across the country.
Presented by the Broadway League Foundation and named in honor of the late producer and theatre owner James M. Nederlander, the Jimmy Awards see nominees partaking in a week of events, workshops, and master classes with industry professionals. The week culminates in the ceremony itself, a performance held on a Broadway stage at which the nominees compete for the top titles.
“Looking back at the last 15 years, the impact the Jimmy Awards has had on Broadway is undeniable," says Broadway League President Charlotte St. Martin in a statement. "We have seen 63 Jimmys alumni go on to perform on Broadway and touring Broadway shows, some making the leap to Hollywood. The sky’s the limit for these incredibly talented and ambitious nominees.”
Past winners include Andrew Barth Feldman and Renée Rapp, both of whom quickly moved on to Broadway careers, with Feldman starring in the title role of Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen and Rapp starring as queen bee Regina George in Mean Girls. This year's winners, Lauren A. Marchand and Langston Lee, hailed from New York and Texas, respectively.
Open to the public, tickets to the event will go on sale at a date to be announced.
