Waldorf Theatre

The Waldorf Theatre, designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp, opened in 1926 at 116 W. 50th Street. The theatre presented dancer Will Mahoney in the musical Take the Air, its most successful production, and produced a 1932 revival of That’s Gratitude. The Waldorf Theatre housed Dangerous Corner before the theatre was converted into retail space and a movie theatre. Located on the same block as the Roxy and Radio City Music Hall, the Waldorf could not compete, and it was demolished in the late 1960s.
