The Craig Theatre opened at 152 W. 54th Street in 1928. Later known as the Adelphi, Leonard Bernstein made his Broadway debut as a composer with his musical On the Town. The Craig Theatre, eventually named the George Abbott Theatre, was demolished in 1970.
