BREAKDOWN

WAITRESS

SEEKING:

JENNA (Female identifying, 20s-30s, any ethnicity, mezzo-soprano F#3- F5). A young woman stuck in her small town and unhappy marriage to abusive husband Earl. Living paycheck to paycheck. Finds bits of happiness in her pie baking and friendships. Yearns to get away and have a fresh start. Has a pop/rock sound with great range.

DAWN (Female identifying, 20s, any ethnicity, vocal range: G3-E5). The nerdy, quirky, glasses- wearing type. Big hints of OCD in her appearance and painstaking insurance of equidistant table settings. Able to sing pop/rock/folk vocal styles.

BECKY (Female identifying, 40s-50s, any ethnicity, vocal range: Eb3-E5). World-weary and snarky but has managed to keep her sharp sense of humor. Honest and loyal to Jenna and Dawn. Has excellent comedic timing and be able to sing pop with a high belt.

DR POMATTER (Male identifying, 30s-early 40s, any ethnicity, vocal range: Bb2-Bb4). Jenna’s gynecologist turned lover. Quirky and clumsy in a way that makes him endearing. Has a great sense of humor and a big heart. Adept at humor and a strong pop/rock tenor.

OGIE (Male identifying, 20s-30s, any ethnicity, vocal range: C3-F4). Becomes smitten with Dawn after a 5-minute date. Quirky, incredibly persistent but kind. Has excellent comedic timing and able to sing pop/rock.

CAL (Male identifying, 40s, any ethnicity, vocal range: D3-F4). Chef at the diner. “Salt of the Earth” guys guy surrounded by gals. Brash, impatient and unsentimental but still charming. Able to sing pop/rock/folk
