TROOP 3200 (New Play)
VENUE: Brooklyn Art Haus
SHOW INFORMATION:
This year at Girl Scouts Camp Jane has only one goal: to become the best f***ing Girl Scout to ever live. The only thing standing in her way? Her oddball troop mates, who never seem to listen. Once the counselors are asleep, Jane and her friends sneak away for a night of fun and adventure. When an unexpected stranger fractures the group, it is up to Jane to save them all.
Troop 3200 is a nostalgic tale following five girls on the brink of adolescence as they confront their fears regarding sexuality, puberty, and above all else, what it means to truly belong.
This show is intended to be a tight 90 minutes, the dialogue fast-paced. The piece is structured without much grammar to encourage the characters’ exchanges to feel organic, like a chaotic group message.

NOTE:
Because puberty is such a large theme in the show, all the characters are meant to be played by female identifying actors spanning from twenty to seventy years old. The themes need to be handled with delicacy from people who have come out of it on the other side.
It needs to be a topic discussed without shame, is not sexual, and is normalized among a group of excitable and frightened women. The lines are funny, but they should be spoken with the utmost sincerity!
