DESCRIPTION
Steve Hackman Productions is looking for outstanding vocal soloists for their orchestral fusion productions which combine popular and classical masterpieces, like Brahms X Radiohead and Beethoven X Beyonce. We are seeking pop/jazz singers to perform with symphony orchestras and that are ARTISTS- who possess voices with distinction, character and individuality, and who make songs their own. You will be singing works that reimagine the melodies and lyrics of songs you know and translate them into the musical language of classical composers ranging from Brahms to Bartók. Therefore, stellar musicianship is a must: expert reading ability, impeccable ears/pitch center, knowledge of vocal arranging and music theory, and blending ability. That being said, we are not seeking an operatic or choral vocal delivery; we are looking for strong pop/jazz voices informed by classical technique and pedagogy, and above all rooted in a compelling and unique artistic identity.
