Mina – A strong, willful young woman who takes matters into her own hands
Lucy – Mina’s Friend, naïve, loves life and years to live it with wild abandon
Harker – Mina’s Fiancé, a solicitor hired by Dracula to facilitate his arrival in England
Renfield – A scary and exciting shapeshifter and storyteller
Seward – A young doctor at Carfax Lunatic Asylum, in love with lucy and resistant of the more supernatural possibilities. A heartbroken man of science.
Dracula – The Centuries-old count himself
Van Helsing – A man of the word, Seward’s mentor and Dracula’s foil. Intelligent, quick-witted, strong and observant.

OLDER BOB/ BOBBY STARRETT: Latino: Age 25-40’s and eight years old. A man who recalls an incident from his childhood. He is our witness and our guide.
MARIAN STARRETT: Latina, Age 30’s: Bobby’s Mexican Mother. She's lively, smart, and an opinionated teacher trying to raise her son to be a good man.
JOE STARRETT: Latino & White: Age 50-60 . Bobby’s Father. He’s half Mexican and half white. A farmer. He’s a good man who is trying to provide the best life possible for his young wife and son.
SHANE- (ROLE HAS BEEN CAST, STILL SEEKING UNDERSTUDY) Black/Latino: Age 35-40. A mysterious cowboy and gun slinger.
CHRIS JOHNSON: Black, 18-25. A likable young cowboy trying to rise in Fletcher’s organization. Doubles as ENSEMBLE.
LUKE FLETCHER: White: Age 40-60. The smart and greedy landowner who wants the valley for his new enterprise. Doubles as ENSEMBLE
WINONA STEPHENS (means: Eldest Daughter in Lakota) – Native American. 20’s- 30’s A Lakota woman that has been charged by her tribe to negotiate and select better cattle for her people on the reservation. She is an interpreter. Doubles as ENSEMBLE
JAKE LEDYARD - White. An untrustworthy traveling salesman of farming equipment. Doubles as SAM GRAFTON and ENSEMBLE. Doubles as - White, The fair-minded owner of the Grafton Saloon and General store. Doubles as JAKE LEYDARD.
ERNIE WRIGHT: White, Aged 30-50. A likable neighboring homesteader with a hot temper. Doubles as STARK WILSON and ENSEMBLE.
STARK WILSON: White. The cold-blooded gunslinger hired by Fletcher to manipulate homesteaders into a duel they cannot survive. Doubles as ERNIE.
EXTRAS: SLIM AND CURLY: Two extras serve as non-speaking cowboys. NOTE: They should have a movement background and be part of the fights and threats and scene changes.

Carole King (Born Carol Klein) - An aspiring singer/songwriter going from schoolgirl to superstar. An unassuming, appealing, funny and vulnerable girl from a Jewish family in Brooklyn. A powerful, distinctive voice that can replicate Carole King’s. Character Age Range: 16–late 20s. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (G3–E5) NOTE: Needs to convincingly act as if she is playing the piano, making piano skills necessary.
Gerry Goffin - Carole’s boyfriend, songwriting partner and eventual husband. Magnetic personality, appealing, passionate, ambitious and sympathetic. Portrays a wide range of emotions and is a strong singer. Character Age Range: 18–30s Vocal Range: Baritone (B2–A4)
Cynthia Weil - Carole’s best friend and fellow songwriter. She is sophisticated, smart, chic, likable, with a quick wit and comic timing. She and Barry Mann form the other half of the famous songwriting duo who are both rivals and friends to Carole and Gerry. A strong singer who can belt. Character Age Range: 18–30s Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (E3–E5)
Barry Mann - Cynthia’s songwriting partner (and eventual husband). He is good natured, appealing, endearing and a hypochondriac. Comedic, with a strong voice. Character Age Range: 18–30s. Vocal Range: Tenor (C3–A4)
Donny Kirshner - An influential music publisher and producer. Smart, authoritative, and a mentor to the young songwriters. Mostly speaking role; occasionally joins ensemble. Character Age Range: 30s–50s. Vocal Range: Baritone (A2–C4)
Genie Klein - Carole’s strong-willed, practical, Jewish mother. A realist who’s both protective and proud of her daughter. Provides humor and grounded wisdom. Mostly speaking role; occasionally joins ensemble. Character Age Range: 40s–60s. Vocal Range: Alto (G3–C5)
