Seeking strong actor-singers with a grounded, contemporary sensibility. Material prioritizes emotional storytelling over vocal acrobatics.

Please submit for the role you feel most aligns with you. We strongly encourage actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities to submit. Character pronouns reflect the roles, not casting limitations.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a 1-minute selection of a folk-rock song. Some artists to look at for inspiration: Noah Kahan, Olivia Rodrigo, Hozier, Lizzie McAlpine, Joni Mitchell, etc. Non-musical theatre songs are highly encouraged, but not mandatory. We are especially seeking artists with unique and unusual voices.

TERESTEA: AN ORIGINAL FANTASY ADVENTURE

SYNOPSIS: Terestea [TEH-res-tee] is a new, original musical rooted in contemporary folk-pop and theatrical storytelling. When a sacred crystal that sustained an entire kingdom is stolen and misused by the royal family, the land begins to collapse. Two brothers, Robin and Jay, set out to confront the damage and restore balance, while Princess Natalia must reckon with her family's legacy and decide what kind of leader she will become. Blending mythic storytelling with a modern musical voice, Terestea explores power, responsibility, and what we are willing to sacrifice to build a better world.

SEEKING:

[PRINCESS NATALIA TERRA] she/her, mid-20s, Mezzo (contemporary mix/belt). Princess of Terestea and heir to the throne. Intelligent, capable, and raised to lead, but questioning everything she's been taught. She carries both strength and vulnerability, and her journey is about defining leadership on her own terms.

Vocal: Contemporary pop/folk mix with belt. Think Olivia Rodrigo, Lizzy McAlpine, Hayley Williams.

[JAMESON “JAY” MANDER] he/him, early 20s, Bari-tenor. Robin's younger brother. Charming, impulsive, and deeply loyal. Often leads with emotion before thought, but his heart is always in the right place. Provides levity while still carrying emotional weight.

Vocal: Contemporary bari-tenor, conversational and flexible. Think if Harry Styles played Evan Hansen.

[SIR ASH DREAM] she/they, 20, Mezzo (rock edge). Apprentice to the Commander of the Royal Guard. Strong, capable, and emotionally perceptive. Torn between loyalty and doing what's right.

Vocal: Contemporary rock mezzo. Think Kelly Clarkson, Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne.

Note: This role primarily uses they/them pronouns. We strongly encourage submissions from actors who use she/they or they/them pronouns.

[SIR ARTHUR SNYDER] he/him, 35-45, Baritone. Commander of the Royal Guard. A man of discipline, conviction, and buried grief. Fiercely devoted to protecting those he loves, even when it leads him down a dangerous path.

Vocal: Lyric baritone with emotional depth. Think if Hozier played Javert.

[IDONIA] she/her, 30-40, Mezzo (powerhouse). A revolutionary leader and a force of nature. Charismatic, commanding, and unapologetically driven. Believes deeply in her cause and isn't afraid to disrupt the system to achieve it. We strongly encourage black, indigenous, and POC actors to submit.

Vocal: Powerful contemporary belt. Think Beyoncé (Cowboy Carter era) with the energy of Chappell Roan yelling at the paparazzi.

[KING ISAAC TERRA] he/him, 50-65, Bass-Baritone. King of Terestea. Compassionate and idealistic, struggling to reconcile leadership with the realities of his decisions. Deeply human and conflicted.

Vocal: Resonant bass-baritone. Think if Bon Iver played the Beast.

[QUEEN MARJORIE TERRA] she/her, 45-65, Soprano / High Mezzo. Queen of Terestea. Thoughtful, perceptive, and emotionally intelligent. Sees more than she says. Holds the weight of the kingdom quietly but firmly.

Vocal: Warm, expressive soprano with presence. Think if Joni Mitchell played Christine Daaé.

[TERRANCE & OTHERS] he/him, Bass/Baritone. Will read several featured ensemble roles including Terrance Castifer, the Crown's Crier.

[ANNORA & OTHERS] she/her, Mezzo/Alto. Will read several featured ensemble roles including Annora, a bandit.
