Summary:

• Stage Left Childrens Theatre is seeking a Teaching Artist/Director to lead our Musical Theatre Workshops. Students in these programs fall withing 3rd – 6th grades. This position involves guiding elementary age students through a 15-week rehearsal process culminating in a fully staged junior-length musical performance at the end of each semester. The ideal candidate is an engaging educator, strong communicator, and organized director who is passionate about working with young performers.

Essential Duties:

• Audition and cast each production

• Collaborate with assistant directors to build and maintain rehearsal schedules

• Lead rehearsals, including blocking and music instruction

• Prepare and plan weekly rehearsal materials in advance

• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and staff

• Collaborate with the technical director and production team on set design and crew organization

• Foster a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment for students

Qualifications:

• BFA in Theatre, Musical Theatre, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children in a theatrical or educational setting

• Demonstrated experience leading rehearsals and directing young performers

• Strong organizational and communication skills
