Audition for the chance to step around the world! Annual Company Auditions will be held May 16 – 17, 2026.
Step Afrika!, the world’s leading authority on the art form of stepping, will host its Annual Company Auditions May 16 – 17, 2026, at Maryland Youth Ballet. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Step Afrika! is looking for professionals with both talent and work ethic. Accomplished performers in Stepping, Tap, West African, Modern, and/or Hip-Hop, and those with strengths as actors, drummers, and singers are encouraged to audition. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Step Afrika! offers competitive salaries, health benefits, vacations, and extensive national/international touring. Teaching and leading arts education programs are a large part of Step Afrika!’s work (here). The Company hires full-time and part-time dancers for annual contracts, commencing in August. New hires must be willing to relocate to Washington, DC by August 1, 2026.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Step Afrika!’s Annual Company Auditions will take place May 16–17, 2026, at Maryland Youth Ballet (926 Ellsworth Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20910). Applicants should plan to be available both days, for auditions on Saturday, May 16, and callbacks on Sunday, May 17. Be ready to present prepared pieces and learn new choreography! Additional details will be provided to those who complete the audition application below.

$38,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
