Something Better Productions is seeking a creative and collaborative music director to join our upcoming production, "Forget I Said Anything" by Samantha Roberts off-Broadway at Theatre Row.
First day of rehearsals: May 26th, 2026
Tech Week: July 13th, 2026
Opening: July 19th, 2026
Closing: August 2nd, 2026
(Potential option to extend to August 9th)
Directed by Samantha Roberts
Associated Directed by Alivia Salls
Stage Managed by Mel Hardy
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and refine harmonies to the cast during the first two weeks of rehearsal
- Provide rehearsal accompaniment periodically during staging rehearsals
- Assist composer in creating instrument scores for musicians
- Supervise the band and host band rehearsal prior to Sitzprobe
- Attend tech and performances
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong experience as a Music Director/Conductor for musical theatre
- Comfortable teaching music to cast
- Collaborative, flexible, and responsive in the rehearsal room
- Experience working on new musicals preferred
- Comfortable creating a dividing orchestrations preferred
- Proficiency on Dorico preferred
Timeline:
Mid May- Mid August
Payment:
Stipend commensurate with experience ranging from $1500-$2000 plus portion of ticket sales.
All submissions due by April 23rd at 11:59pm
Interviews will be scheduled beginning April 27th

SALARY
$1,500 - $2,000 Per Gig
