We are looking for actor-musicians to complete the cast of 8 BALL, a new electric pop musical sonically inspired by MUNA, RAYE, and Caroline Polachek.

SYNOPSIS: 8 BALL follows an intertwined, queer college band on the brink of breaking up. When the band’s frontman/lead singer, Sirena, convinces them to play one last show before they all graduate, the band’s long-held secrets unravel in front of a live audience - there’s messy, unrequited love affairs, a struggle for power, and even a little spilled blood. A piece that blurs the line between theater & a live concert, 8 BALL centers five college students grappling with queerness, collaboration, and the fragile line between idealism and reality, sung through an electric dark pop score.

Each actor will get a stipend of $200 as well as a portion from ticket sales. We will start rehearsing the first week of April and perform our first show in an established venue in NYC in mid-June. We will have 8-12 rehearsals, depending on cast & creative availability.

We are looking for the following roles:

CJ (female, 20s-30s): Excellent piano & keyboard player. Understated but not shy, introspective, and charming bisexual. Pop mezzo voice with folk stylings. Any ethnicity.

MAC (nonbinary/transmasc, 20s-30s): Excellent guitar player with experience using synths. Outgoing but noncommittal masculine-presenting lesbian. Pop alto with strong harmony skills. POC preferred.

ROWAN (any gender, 20s-30s): Excellent bass player. Extremely witty & sharp comedic timing. Queer. Pop alto/tenor with strong harmony skills. POC preferred.

LOLA (transfemme/nonbinary, 20s-30s): Excellent drummer. Imaginative, loving, and optimistic to the point of at times, being passive. Pop mezzo voice with strong harmony skills. Any ethnicity.
