Scenic/Carpentry

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the construction/fabrication, paint, load-in, and strike of scenic/props elements for assigned productions and events.

Ideal candidates should have a broad knowledge of carpentry, tools, and theatrical products; ability to weld or rig is a plus. This role also requires the ability to read and execute construction drawings. Scenic Carpenters may be required to life, carry, push, pull and reposition objects weighting 50+ pounds either alone or with a team.

Props/Paint

This position may also require basic experience in standard theatrical painting, techniques, and tools, as well as a comfortability to work at heights exceeding 10 ft (on lifts or ladders). Basic experience with 3D texturing, faux finishes, and vartious typical scenic treatments (woodgraining, stone texture, etc.) is preferred.

For those seeking to assist with properties fabrication, basic experience with standard theatrical prop or carpentry construction techniques and tools is necessary. Knowledge of basic scenic paint treatments, soft goods/uphostery, furniture carpentry/construction, and the ability to work at heights (on ladders or lifts) and carry up to 25 lbs is preferred.
