DESCRIPTION
Hudson Scenic Studio is a leading provider of custom scenic fabrication, automation, and painted

The Production Manager reports to the Director of Production and is responsible for managing projects
in the production phase with a focus on technical design, fabrication and logistics. Also manages
auxiliary departments such as CNC routers and rentals/rigging.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage multiple shows through the shop; oversee technical design milestones and fabrication to
ensure shows are built on schedule and within budget
• Identify, communicate and schedule resource needs for individual projects.
• Prepare fabrication calendars to communicate milestones
• Coordinate with engineering department to integrate drawings onto the floor
• Manage multiple departments comprised of union and non-union labor
• Monitor quality control
• Plan and allocate physical space (both short- and long-term), in coordination with all departments
• Coordinate load out schedules, balancing client needs with trucking and warehouse resources
• Spearhead CNC router improvements & manage education of that department
• Oversee rentals & rigging department for chain motor packages & rigging installations from a
Project & Production management role.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5+ years in commercial theatre or entertainment industry experience including
supervisory experience and/or MFA
• Experience working with IA contracts for stagehand and scenic art labor
• Ability to read technical drawings and navigate AutoCAD; proficient in Microsoft Office programs
and Google G Suite
• Strong understanding of scenic construction and automation
• Familiarity with trucking logistics
• Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high pressure environment and
work efficiently within given time constraints; highly organized
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly
• Self-motivated; team oriented and highly collaborative work style
• Experience developing and implementing Health and Safety initiatives
• Familiarity with automated tooling, such as CNC Lathes, Routers and Mills
