Heartland Sings is a Vocal Arts non-profit hiring a full time Soprano to add to our group of Principal Artists. Artists at Heartland Sings are versatile performers. At Heartland Sings we perform a variety of different styles such as Pop, Musical Theatre, Opera, Choral, Rock, Jazz, and more. When not performing in a production or a solo recital/gig, principal artists maintain a small private studio of about 6 singers and teach private vocal lessons. Outside of performance and the studio, artists enrich Fort Wayne though educational outreach and programming with Retirement Communities, Schools, Clubs, and other non-profits.

2. Resume: A standard one-page resume detailing your education, performance and teaching experience, most recent employment, and awards.
3. Brief Biography: 250 words or less is suggested.
4. Artist Statement: In 500 words or less, describe who you are as an artist, state your goals and objectives, and share your philosophic thoughts on the vocal arts.
5. Headshot: One 8x10 professional quality headshot, color or b&w
6. Publicity Photos: Up to three promotional photos
7. References: Please supply complete contact information (email, phone) for three (3) references who will be willing to complete a brief questionnaire about your abilities. Questions will reference your musicianship, experience, personality, and professionalism.

Prescreening Audition Recordings:
a. Submit three (3) solo video recordings* from the categories listed below. The repertoire selected should demonstrate your musical ability, command of different styles, and aesthetic preferences. Recordings should be recent, less than two (2) years old, with at least one recording made within the last year. All selections should be with accompaniment (pop/rock/jazz/country/gospel selections may use a live accompaniment or karaoke track).

Parameters for solos: 1) One classical selection (art song or aria) ; 2) One contemporary selection (pop/rock/jazz/country/gospel); 3) One post-1980 musical theater selection; 4) One selection must be in a language other than English.

*Please note: you may submit two additional videos for a maximum of five (5) recordings total.

b. Submit a video demonstrating your teaching one-on-one in a private voice lesson (15 minute minimum).

c. Submit a five-minute video of you demonstrating AND discussing how you have gone about preparing your vocal part to an ensemble selection you’ve learned recently. This will help us understand your personal process and to get to know you better.
