DESCRIPTION

Casting Elijah, a role for "Our Price to Pay," a sapphic horror play debuting at the New York Fringe Festival.

Synopsis: Long-distance lovers, Ellie and Sylvia, are savoring their last moments together in Sylvia’s new apartment in Dallas, TX, before Ellie gets on a plane back to Chicago. Just as the car to the airport pulls up, Sylvia musters the courage to ask Ellie to move in with her. Just as the two are about to…celebrate, A zombie breaks down the door, and the two must defeat him, which is very hard for Sylvia because this zombie used to be her Uncle Carl. Deciding to take shelter from the zombie virus in her parents’ basement, Sylvia brings Ellie to meet her parents. The couple is welcomed with open arms to the Fourth of July picnic, but the nefarious virus of MAGA ideology that lives just beneath their skin shows itself in “I’m just saying” conversations…and eventually a violent bloodbath! In the end, Ellie and Sylvia cuddle together alone in the basement, fortifying each other for their toughest battle yet: staying hopeful.

Character Description: Sylvia's cousin, Elijah (cis boy, any race, to 18+ to play 16), aspires to be a mechanic. He has been deeply coddled and visibly favored by his parents, as opposed to his sister, Sophia. He is following in the MAGA footsteps of his family, and is fairly oblivious to the experiences of others. The character engages in stage combat.
