DESCRIPTION

The Dramatists Guild of America was established in 1919 to help dramatists protect the artistic and economic integrity of their work and to advocate on their behalf. The Guild has over 8,000 members nationwide, from student writers to the most prominent authors being produced on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in regional theaters. The Guild assists dramatists in developing both their artistic and business skills through its educational programs, publications, seminars, workshops, and its Business Affairs department, which provides model agreement forms, reviews contracts, and offers business advice on standard practices in the theater industry.

Position Title: Office Associate

Description:

The Dramatists Guild of America is looking for a part-time (20-25 hours per week) Office Associate. The Associate will provide primary on-site coverage for the office and provide administrative support to the Guild staff. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional, capable of prioritizing, with an eye for detail and a strong sense of discretion and integrity. The Office Associate must represent the Guild well, so a friendly and professional demeanor is essential.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to: facilitating communication between remote and on-site staff; ensuring the office is stocked with necessary supplies; and performing basic on-site reception duties. The Office Assistant will:

• Answer main phone line and re-direct calls to appropriate parties.

• Screen voicemails and general email inquiries and forward to appropriate parties.

Accept and sort mail, packages, and deliveries.

Assist walk-in visitors.

Oversee office calendar, including the Conference Room schedule.

Manage office white board with pertinent daily meetings, absences, announcements, etc.

Order supplies for office and kitchen on a regular basis.

Oversee meeting space, perform routine maintenance such as vacuuming, stacking chairs, etc.

Assist with projects, as needed.

Requirements:

Knowledge of online CRM tools (familiarity with Zoho, in particular)

Proficiency working with MS Office suite of products.

Strong organizational and time management skills with sharp attention to detail.

Excellent verbal communication skills when speaking with colleagues and outside parties.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate across internal and external work teams by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

Flexible and adaptable team player with high initiative, adept at prioritizing time-sensitive tasks and working independently.

Must be comfortable being exposed to and maintaining confidential organizational information that is not available to non-management employees or outsiders, demonstrating a high level of personal integrity in all dealings.

Work Schedule:

The Guild’s business hours are 9:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday. The specific hours needed for this role will be determined in collaboration with the successful candidate, taking into consideration their availability and the Guild's operational requirements, but they must fall within business hours.

Please note that this is NOT a remote position. The Office Associate is expected to work in-person ONLY.

Salary (Non Exempt): $25/hour
